On Saturday May 24, SplashMOR Outdoor Water Play opens at CMoR Central. SplashMOR is an interactive water exhibit where children can bring their bathing suits to play, get wet, and cool down. SplashMOR is part of CMoR’s outdoor exhibit, a summertime area that also features Trees Across Virginia and an outdoor picnic area.
Liz Pearce, Director of Parent Engagement at CMoR says, “We encourage children to play with water because it improves and develops their muscles as well as hand-eye coordination. While engaging in water play, children participate in early science experiments utilizing measurement and cause-and-effect. While adults are playing alongside children they have the opportunity to teach social problem solving skills such as taking turns, sharing toys, and cooperative play.”
SplashMOR is free with museum admission.
Also this summer CMoR has partnered with Romp n’ Roll, Bricks 4 Kidz, and PlayWell Teknologies to provide the Richmond area with a diverse offering of summer camp programs. Camps will be held at all three of CMoR’s Richmond area locations and will offer a variety of programs, dates and times to fit a busy family’s schedule.
