PopUp RVA has announced its plans to open a new permanent location inside of Chesterfield Towne Center. Opening August 1.
“This new endeavor is our way of creating even more opportunity for the Richmond community to shop local” Says founder Brian Sullivan “This just seemed like the next logical step, moving from weekend and seasonal events to a full time retail store.”
Local vendors will have the option of signing up for a single day to establishing their own full time retail space within the market area.
Currently, most of the businesses and small vendors you’ll find at events like PopUp RVA rely on outdoor events and some online sales. Moving into a retail or brick and mortar location quickly becomes prohibitively expensive. This new space will essentially allow local vendors to open their own retail space at a low cost and around a schedule that works for them.
“Most of our vendors have other jobs and are either doing this as a side hustle, or slowly trying to build into their full time income. We want to make that transition possible, without all the underlying risk that comes along with it. This new space will give everyone an opportunity to have a safe, reliable space to setup and grow their customer base and their business.”
The space, a 9,000sqft retail store, was previously occupied by Victorias Secret, who has since moved across the hall. PopUp RVA says they can facilitate up to 30 new local vendors every day.
Since it’s debut in 2020, PopUp RVA has hosted more than 3,500 local businesses in the Greater Richmond area and beyond.
