WinterFest Holiday Celebration Opens November 23 at Kings Dominion

Kings Dominion’s brand-new immersive holiday entertainment tradition, WinterFest, debuts Friday, November 23.

WinterFest transforms the park into a winter wonderland adorned with millions of holiday lights, multitudes of Christmas trees and festive décor displayed throughout the park. Plus, the iconic Eiffel Tower will be transformed into a 300-foot tall Christmas tree. WinterFest activities include a nightly lighting ceremony, live holiday shows and strolling performers, ice skating, family rides, a special holiday menu and falling snow. WinterFest will be open select evenings through December 31.

Festive Activities for the Whole Family

At WinterFest, children can write a letter to Santa at the North Pole Post Office, take a picture with Santa at St. Nick’s Pics*, decorate cookies with Mrs. Claus*, create take-home keepsakes at Sally Brown’s Christmas Crafts and visit a live nativity and petting zoo.

Guests will also be able to ice skate on the park’s International Street Fountain, which will be transformed into Snow Flake Lake*, as well as reserve horse drawn carriage rides* throughout the park. Families will enjoy up to 21 rides, including Dominator and Delirium, as well as several kids rides and family favorites.

Enchanting Live Entertainment

More than a dozen shows will spread holiday cheer throughout the park such as Cool Yule, Jingle Jazz and the Mistletones, Tinker’s Toy Factory and Charlie Brown’s Christmas Spectacular. Throughout the midways, 34 holiday characters including Jack Frost, Ice Princess, Sugar Plum Fairy and the PEANUTS™ gang, will meet and greet guests spreading holiday cheer.

Delicious Holiday Fare and Unique Gifts

Kings Dominion’s executive chef, Tiffanie Blackmon, has prepared several holiday menu items just for WinterFest, including classic ham and turkey dinners with traditional holiday sides, gourmet mac and cheese, gingerbread and bananas Foster funnel cakes, candy cane churro sundaes and homemade specialty hot chocolate.

Shoppers can hunt for the perfect gift crafted by local artists at Artisan Village and browse for unique finds at North Pole Mercantile, PEANUTS™ Holiday Gifts, Gifts of the Season, Sugar Plum Sweets and more.

The holiday celebrations continue with New Year’s Eve at WinterFest, a family-friendly celebration that will feature live entertainment, Snoopy’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve Party, fireworks at midnight and more. New Year’s Eve at WinterFest is included with WinterFest admission or a gold season pass.

Guests get unlimited visits to WinterFest with the purchase of a 2019 Gold Season Pass or with the free Kings Dominion Pre-K Pass, which grants complimentary admission to kids ages three to five.
