Fall weather makes for the perfect time to volunteer with and support Richmond Habitat. This fall, Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity has several volunteer opportunities and events for individuals of all ages.
For several weeks starting in October, Richmond Habitat is hosting its Fall Women Build. During Women Build, local women come together to raise funds and volunteer to build a home for a family. There are individual and group volunteer opportunities through this initiative.
On October 15, Richmond Habitat is hosting a Halloween Cornhole Tournament at Libbie Mill Pier to support this year’s local Women Build house! Tournament is open to anyone who is feeling festive and enjoys the game of Cornhole! Prizes will be awarded to Cornhole finalists and for best costume and team costume. There will be early afternoon league from 11am-2pm and a late afternoon league from 3pm-6pm.
Finally, on Saturday, November 19, Richmond Habitat is hosting its annual LEGO Blitz Build. Youth can work in teams or individually to build their most creative home out of LEGO’s.
What to expect:
- Learn about Habitat for Humanity
- Habitat games – WIN PRIZES!

And, as always, Richmond Habitat has volunteer opportunities that individuals and groups can plug into throughout the year. Currently, the organization is building 5 homes and utilizes volunteers on the build sites Wednesday through Saturday, 8AM until 3PM. The organization also uses volunteers to help run its two retail operations, the Habitat for Humanity ReStores. For more information and to sign up to volunteer, visit Richmond Habitat.
