Absentee Ballot, Voter Registration Deadlines Approach for Special Election

Early Voting Is Underway at the Registrar’s Office Only

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA — Registered Chesterfield County, Richmond, and Henrico County voters who reside in the 4^th U.S. Congressional District have until 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10 to submit their application to vote by mail (absentee ballot) in the ongoing special election.

Furthermore, county residents in the 4^th U.S. Congressional District wishing to register to vote, or update existing voter information, to participate in the special election have until 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb 14 to submit their application in person and 11:59 p.m. to submit an online application.

By declaration of Gov. Glenn Youngkin, a special election has been called for Tuesday, Feb. 21 to fill the 4^th U.S. Congressional District seat left vacated by the passing of the late U.S. Rep. Donald McEachin.

Only voters living within the 4^th U.S. Congressional District portion of Chesterfield County, Richmond, and Henrico County can participate in the special election. In Chesterfield County, absentee applications may be submitted to the Chesterfield County Registrar’s Office in-person from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday at 9848 Lori Road, Chesterfield, Va. 23832; or via fax at 804-751-0822 as another option for submittal.

Please note: For voters choosing to vote by mail, your ballot must include a witness signature before being cast in the special election.

In Chesterfield County, registered voters in the 4^th U.S. Congressional District can vote early in-person from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Chesterfield County Registrar’s Office:

• • Friday, Jan. 6 through Friday, Feb. 17 (Monday – Friday)
  • Saturday, Feb. 11 and Saturday, Feb. 18

Early Voting is available at the Registrar’s Office for the special election. No other locations are open for early voting.
