Greater Richmond Sailing Association will be holding week-long full day sail camps this summer for beginner and intermediate/advanced students aged 8-18 years. All sessions are taught by U.S. Sailing certified instructors on the Swift Creek Reservoir in Midlothian, VA. No sailing experience is necessary. Beginners learn fundamentals of sailing small sailboats including the sailboat parts, sailing terminology, sail trim, safety and steering. Experienced students learn small sailboat handling and racing techniques including sail trim, upwind and downwind tactics, starting and sailboat racing rules. These programs support self-confidence, sportsmanship, safety awareness and respect for others.
