Parents Invited to Give Input on “Book Bowl” Successors

booksHenrico County Public Schools is seeking input from parents and guardians about the new elementary school literacy programs that will replace Book Bowl. The school division is holding an April 28 meeting to find out what elements parents like about Book Bowl and want to see continued in new programs. Book Bowl is a reading program where school teams answer questions about books in a quiz show format. It was eliminated recently after a 25-year run. The new HCPS reading programs will be school-based and tailored to each school. Information gathered at the meeting will be distributed to all elementary school principals and librarians to help them in creating new literacy programs for their schools.

Parents and guardians of students in Henrico County elementary schools are invited to attend a meeting: Monday, April 28, 5:30 at Maybeury Elementary School Library, 901 Maybeury Drive .
