Poplar Forest will open between Christmas and New Year’s, and for Winter Weekends beginning January 19th for the first time ever!

FOREST, VA. – Continue to enjoy the holiday season after Christmas and before New Year’s by taking a tour of Thomas Jefferson’s retreat home between December 26 and December 30.

Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest will be open to the public from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Bring your guests, friends and family out for a tour at Poplar Forest to view Jefferson’s retreat decorated for the holiday season. Regular admission applies. The Poplar Forest Museum Shop will continue to be open for the holidays with 25% off everything in the store!

Can’t make a tour of Jefferson’s retreat before our season closing December 30th? Do not fret! Winter Weekends at Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest start January 19th and will continue until the regular season opening March 15th. Poplar Forest will open from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Be sure to note that group tours are available year-round by appointment.

Poplar Forest is a National Historic Landmark recently added to the United States nominations to become a World Heritage Site. The property is regarded as an important example of historic restoration and archaeological research, and is open for tours, events and school programs.
