George Dennehy Performs at the Science Museum of Virginia

Eighteen year old George Dennehy plays the guitar like no other and his music career is taking off. A recent video of him playing the song “Iris” went viral and caught the attention of the Goo Goo Dolls, who invited him to appear live with the band at Musikfest. George’s Youtube videos have already drawn an audience of more than one million worldwide and he has his first original single up on iTunes. Now he takes the stage for Guitar Performance: George Dennehy in Guitar: The Instrument That Rocked The World at the Science Museum of Virginia, Monday, December 31, 1 pm.

Dennehy’s talent is evident the minute he starts performing. A musician born without arms, he is also the only known person who is able to play classical string music with his feet. He started taking cello lessons when he was eight and has turned his focus to guitar, which he plays while he sings. George is very excited about making his appearance in Guitar where he’ll cover some of his favorite songs. He’s already had a chance to explore the exhibition himself and has this to say, “You have to see this exhibit. Everything guitar from the beginning of time !”

Guitar Performance: George Dennehy is included with exhibit admission. Tickets are $11 with $1 discounts for ages 4-12 and 60+. More information can be found at http://www.smv.org or by calling 804.864.1400.
