Looking for healthy, delicious, and affordable meal options for the family? Clean Eatz to the…
Muse Paintbar has opened its first Richmond location at super-convenient Willow Lawn, and I can whole-heartedly report that it’s so much fun and very rewarding to get in touch with your inner artist at this hot spot.
The setting is super-cool, with exposed brick walls, and many of their over 700 painting choices hanging throughout the studio. When my group of six ladies looking for an evening of kid-free, hubby-free bonding over wine and canvases arrived, we were greeted warmly by Muse’s duo of local artists (VCU School of Art grads, of course!), and shown around the space. We were pleased with the extensive selection of wine, beer, and tapas, and after grabbing our drinks and ordering some snacks, we donned our aprons, and headed to our private room.
Our tables were all set up with blank canvases on table-top easels, cups full o’ brushes, and palettes all ready with the paint colors needed to complete our pre-selected painting (did I mention there are over 700 from which to choose?! Check them all out here).
With the completed painting, i.e. The Goal, up on the wall at the front of the room as our guide, our art instructor for the outing took us step-by-step through our works of art, providing tips and tricks about brush selection, shading, blending, and more all along the way. By the time we wrapped up our session, we were all feeling much more confident in our artistic abilities and couldn’t wait to return to Muse soon (and even bring along those kids and hubbies).
Muse hosts nightly public sessions as well as private parties for adults and kids. I’ve already started thinking about the various gatherings that would be a natural fit for this venue: baby and bridal showers, a book club celebration, birthday parties, retirement parites, and family reunions – just to name a few. Check them out today and you might come up with even more ideas!
