I can hardly wait for March 12 – that’s the day we’ll spring forward, and for one day, I will be perfectly willing to give up an hour of precious sleep for a good cause. Who doesn’t love more daylight in the evening?! More time to bike, enjoy dinner on the patio, toss a Frisbee with Fido. Bring it on, spring!
We’re in full summer camp mode here at RFM, and you’ll find lots of help making your camp choices in this issue. Be on the lookout for info from more than twenty camps from across the state and beyond – everything from an all-girls sleepaway camp at St. Margaret’s in Tappahannock to a rockin’ day camp in Short Pump or Midlothian at School of Rock. When you contact the camps to book your weeks, be sure to tell them you found them in RFM. It’s important to let all of our advertisers know that their ads are working – after all, they are the only reason we’re able to exist!

After you’ve entered all of this month’s contests and marked your calendar for the Expo, you’ll be all ready to dive into this month’s great issue. First up, on page 14, Margie Sims explores the many benefits of drama classes and camps. She is sure to have you thinking about getting your kid on stage, or at least to a drama camp this summer. (But if you’re like me, I’m sure you’ve already seen his dramatic side when things don’t go his way!). We’ll dive into the sensitive (and scary) subject of cyberbullying with Paula Peters Chambers on page 20 – be prepared for an eye-opening look at what young people are facing in today’s world of technology. Next up, on page 28, Joan Tupponce spent some time with some Richmonders you know well – at least by voice and sight. Take a fun glimpse into the lives of three of Richmond’s favorite media celebrities!
