Who’s ready for more snow?

No? Oh, come on! Hasn’t it been fun pretending we live in Minnesota, with what seems like one snowstorm after another? Heck, the folks living in the seriously snowy states have surely been laughing at us again this year. What wouldn’t have made them stop to pick up an extra loaf of bread has sent Richmond into an utter frenzy this winter. And as much as I and so many other parents have been venting about the snow and having the kids home day after day, haven’t you secretly enjoyed it just a little? I know I have – a lot, actually! We’ve had so much fun sleeping in, sledding, making snowmen, warming up with hot cocoa, and my most favorite, having PJ days!

But fear not, weary parents, spring is right around the corner, and we’re gearing up for all of the fun events spring in Richmond will bring our way. We’ll be out at Westchester Commons at the Westchester Shamrock 5K and Kids 1K Fun Run on March 15, and next month, grab your superhero capes for the ever-popular and super-fun CASA Superhero Run on April 26. We’ll visit the Easter Bunny and the petting farm at Short Pump Mall, and then we’ll celebrate Easter at Maymont on April 19.

Be sure to mark April 6 on your calendar. Yes, that’s the date of our annual Summer Adventure Expo, the most fun, most popular, most informative summer camp fair in the region. We’ll be back at Peak Experiences Indoor Climbing Center for an afternoon of live music from The Diggity Dudes (at one o’clock sharp!), a free climb on the rock walls for the kids, and lots of area camp representatives on-hand to give you the 4-1-1 on the best summer camps for your kids of all ages. We’ll have food and other fun, too, so don’t miss out – we’ll see you there, rain, snow, or shine!

Margaret Thompson never thought she’d be a business owner (or a mom for that matter!), but after realizing a need for a high quality, content-focused magazine for Richmond area families, she dove in! With twenty years of marketing and project management under her belt, she pulls all of the pieces together each month to get RFM out to our eager readers. Mom of two teen boys, Margaret and her husband Chris live in Hanover County.
