Dramatic Adventures – This half-day camp is the ideal first theatre camp for your preschool-aged child (ages 3 to 5). Stories come alive through creative drama as we use our bodies, voices, and imaginations to embark on a multi-sensory journey. Each day your child will enjoy music, movement, and craft activities. Children will have the opportunity to invite their parents into the theatre at the end of the week to share what they have learned.
Stage Explorers – In just two weeks your child will learn everything it takes to put on a show in a professional theatre. From singing, acting and dancing, to lights, sounds and sets, and everything in between! Campers will gain an exciting and comprehensive understanding from some of Virginia’s finest theatre artists and educators. At the end of Camp, campers will produce and perform in a Stage Explorers Showcase for all of their friends and family. Stage Explorer’s is for rising 1st to 6th graders and will be held at Virginia Rep’s Children’s Theatre at Willow Lawn.
Young Performers Institute – This two week camp offers participants professional instruction and coaching in a wide variety of intensive acting classes as well as seminars on special topics. The camp will culminate with a final showcase for family and friends where campers will perform scenes, monologues, and improvisational acting games that they have worked on during camp. YPI is for rising 7th to 10th graders and will be held at the Virginia Rep Center in downtown Richmond.
