Maymont’s summer camps, presented by Papa John’s, offer outdoor exploration, animal encounters, and historical discovery through games, crafts, and hands-on activities for young explorers from pre-schoolers to eighth graders. There’s no better place to spend the summer than among Maymont’s giant trees, rolling hills, winding waterways, and historic buildings. 

Enter to win one spot in a camp session. Enter as many as you like. One unique winner will be chosen for each Maymont summer camp.

Midnight at the Mansion 

Rising fourth and fifth graders – July 24-28, 2023 (Retail value, $360)
Did you know there’s a mystery book about Maymont? Based on Midnight at the Mansion, part of Steven K. Smith’s The Virginia Mysteries Series, campers will walk the path of the book’s characters, learn about endangered species, and use their imaginations to create a Virginia Mystery story.

Cub Camp 

For three- and four-year-olds with an adult – July 25-29, 2023 (Retail value,$120)
Explore nature with your pre-schooler in this exciting camp. You and your camper will learn about wildlife through games, hikes, crafts, stories and visits with Maymont’s friendly animals. Adult must accompany child.

Maymont Explorers 

Rising second and third graders – August 7-11, 2023 (Retail value, $230)
Explore the Maymont Mansion, the Robins Nature Center, and the gardens and grounds through scavenger hunts and clues as campers decode secret messages, solve mysteries, and discover hidden treasures.

Dodging Danger 

Rising first graders – August 14-18, 2023 (Retail value, $230)
How would you survive as a bear or a rabbit? Imagine what it takes to live in the wild as campers uncover fun facts about animal habitats and adaptations.
