2014 Chesterfield County Volunteers of the Year

Scotts_2Dave and Linda Scott have been named the 2014 Treasured Volunteers for Chesterfield County. The Scotts have volunteered with Parks and Recreation since 2010.

On average, they volunteer about 60 hours a week as coordinators of the pickleball program, a highly successful part of the 50+ Active Lifestyle program. Approximately 500 people play pickleball each week as part of the Parks and Recreation senior program. The Scotts teach new players the game, organize games and develop partnerships for team play. In addition to being regional ambassadors of the game, they have been recently named ambassadors for the Mid-Atlantic States.

To learn more about pickleball, including how to get involved in Chesterfield County, visit chesterfield.gov/parks or go to the official website of the USA Pickleball Association, usapa.org.
