The program will accept most types of sports gear and equipment, including all kinds of balls, baseball and softball bats and gloves, tennis rackets, cleats (in good shape), lacrosse sticks, yoga mats, and lots more. A comprehensive list of equipment is available at Advance It Up!
“Our goal is to have more active and healthy youth in Richmond, achieved by providing gently-used sporting equipment to area children lacking the resources. This will help make group sports and organized physical activity a more regular occurrence in their lives,” says Kenneth Zaslav, MD, president of Advanced Orthopaedics and a sports medicine specialist.
