July 19, 2012

For immediate release

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA — Having a hard time staying cool this summer? The Chesterfield County Public Library is encouraging kids of all ages to keep up with their summer reading logs and curl up with a good book, hopefully in the shade or the air conditioning. Kids aged 2-6 who have completed their summer reading logs may be entered to win an invitation to a party at the new Chesterfield County branch of the Children’s Museum of Richmond. Submit the completed logs at any branch to be eligible for the drawing. Ten children will be chosen from each branch to attend the party on Saturday, Aug. 25, 6-8 p.m.

All kids who complete their summer reading logs are invited to a special skate party at Skate-A-Way, 3330 Speeks Dr., Midlothian, on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2-4:30 p.m. Bring your completed log for free admission and skate rental. Parents or guardians will pay a $2 spectator fee. The party is open to the first 1,000 people.

For more information, visit library.chesterfield.gov, or ask at any library branch.
