See and experience the vibrancy of Haiti at the Colors Of Haiti art exhibition, July 20 through September 10 at the Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen.
Colors of Haiti opening reception:
Thursday, July 20, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Cultural Arts Center • Refreshments
A range of art will be presented at this popular show, including paintings, metalworks, and paper mache. All art is available for purchase and supports Midwives For Haiti’s mission to improve the health of mothers and children in Haiti by training skilled birth attendants and empowering women.
The Cultural Arts Center presented the first Colors of Haiti exhibit with Midwives for Haiti in 2009, and has presented an exhibition every other summer since. This year is the fifth exhibition showcasing the talents of Haitian artists in an effort to raise funds for Midwives for Haiti’s valuable mission. “The art sells quickly so plan to visit early in the run, and avoid disappointment,” says Lauren Hall with the Cultural Arts Center.
