Comic-Con March 23

The Chesterfield County Public Library is holding the Chesterfield Comic-Con this Saturday, March 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Meadowdale Library. Enjoy games and anime films, peruse comic-book dealer displays and attend workshops by local artists, including Chris Otto, author of A Dog’s Life, Michael Crawford and Kelly Nixon. There will be costume contests with prizes for kids, teens and adults. Door prizes will be awarded all day, with a grand prize of a Bamboo drawing tablet.

This free event highlights Chesterfield County Public Library’s new collections of graphic novels. New titles and classic editions have been ordered for every branch. Graphic novels often are useful in helping reluctant readers become more engaged with books, and help those who are learning English as a second language by connecting the written word with pictures and graphics.

For more information about Comic-Con, or the library’s expanded graphic novel collection, please contact any library branch, or call 804-751-2275. Meadowdale Library is located at 4301 Meadowdale Blvd.
