Swimmers can make a splash with hunger relief!

2nd Annual Dunk Hunger Food Drive to Benefit Central Virginia Food Bank

Richmond, VA—For thousands of local families, summer brings fun in the pool – while for thousands of others, the same season brings the challenge of obtaining enough food to eat. This summer’s 2nd Annual Dunk Hunger Food-and-Funds Drive, sponsored by Richmond Family Magazine and the Virginia Swim Shop, benefits the Central Virginia Food Bank and runs through July 31.

As area swimmers compete for honors in the freestyle or crawl, they also can participate in a meaningful race to generate hunger relief in their community. The swim team or pool club that collects the largest overall donation by July 31 will enjoy a free celebratory party in August powered by Radio Disney! Swim-related organizations that want to dunk hunger can register at feedmore.org/dunkhunger, where full details and tips for a successful campaign are posted.

Last year’s winning team was the Wyndham Tidal Waves, who edged out the Canterbury Recreation Association by the narrowest of margins. The inaugural Dunk Hunger campaign raised the equivalent of 17,634 meals for the Central Virginia Food Bank.

Dunk Hunger is presented by Richmond Family Magazine and the Virginia Swim Shop and is sponsored by Gold Medal Sponsor, College Nannies and Tutors of Richmond; Silver Medal Sponsor, Ortho Virginia; and Bronze Medal Sponsor, Jessica Morgan School of Dance. Additional corporate sponsorships are available.
