The Science Museum of Virginia Announces Boost! Health & Fitness Essay Contest
Boost! your creativity, flexibility, memory, strength…(well, you get the picture) in the Science Museum of Virginia’s new permanent exhibition. Featuring cutting-edge design and technology, Boost! provides an unprecedented opportunity to explore, play and enjoy!
Boost! is an innovative, engaging and fun way to discover wellness — and if you’re one of the thousands of Richmond area students in grades 3 through 8 who have already experienced it, you probably have some really cool ideas about total wellness that you could write about in the Science Museum of Virginia Boost! Health & Fitness Essay Contest. Whether or not you’ve been to Boost! yet, you’ll want to do your best writing to explain how total wellness is related to a combination of physical health, mental health and nutrition — because two of the first place prizes are a class field trip to the Museum and a family season pass!
The first place students will receive prizes from the Museum, including a class field trip, family season pass and Shop4Science gift certificate. Second and third place students will also win prizes from the Museum. In addition, the winning essays will be posted online at the Times Dispatch website and the Science Museum of Virginia website: www.smv.org.
Complete contest details can be found at www.TimesDispatch.com/SMVEssay. Deadline to enter is February 14, 2014 at 5 p.m. Winners will be notified March 13, 2014.
