Girl Scout Cookie Craze January 25, 2014

X-Factor Finalists Fifth Harmony to Perform Live to Close Out Event

Girl Scouts of the Commonwealth of Virginia (GSCV) today announced the first ever Girl Scout Cookie Craze 2014 will occurSaturday, January 25, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. Girl Scout Cookie Craze is the annual kick-off event for the world’s largest girl-led business – Girl Scout Cookies!

Cookie Craze is a night where Girl Scouts and their famous cookies are put in the spotlight. With an estimated attendance of 6,000, this event brings together Girl Scouts, families, friends and Girl Scout cookie lovers to celebrate girl power. This is the first year something of this magnitude has been developed to include not only the Girl Scout community, but also the public community in which GSCV serves.

Girl Scouts will also have the exclusive opportunity to participate in Cookie Academy, a high energy, immersive learning session focused on building skills around goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics—aspects essential to leadership, to success, and to life.

This year’s event will include indoor laser tag, fun inflatables, indoor mini golf, carnival games and fun for all. The event concludes with a live concert by X-Factor Finalists and girl super group Fifth Harmony from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased throughwww.gscookiecraze.com.

“We want to instill in girls the characteristics necessary to become successful women leaders but in a way that excites and encourages them,” said Viola O. Baskerville, CEO, Girl Scouts of the Commonwealth of Virginia. “That is why we sought to host an event of this magnitude. Girl Scout Cookie Craze will engage our girls and show the community that surrounds them that girls learn valuable life skills as a part of Girl Scouts.”
