Kids Adventure Games Back at Snowshoe Mountain Resort in West Virginia

Registration Underway for Kids Adventure Games May 28 and 29 at Snowshoe Mountain Resort in West Virginia

The Kids Adventure Games (Kids A.G.) will return May 28 and 29 to Snowshoe Mountain Resort in West Virginia for its second summer, offering kids ages six to fourteen the chance to experience the thrill of adventure racing challenging themselves physically and emotionally while feeling a huge sense of accomplishment.

3726_1023838340996038_2842382807988680706_nConsidered to be one of the coolest kids races in the nation, during the Kids A.G., teams of two will navigate an adventure course at the on Snowshoe Mountain that will include biking, trekking, rope swings, mud pits, cargo nets, a giant Slope-n-Slide, zip lines, and more.

Registration is underway at kidsadventuregames.com and early registration is encouraged following last year’s race sellout. Racers will also have an opportunity to participate in skills clinics prior to the races to practice and perfect skills including teamwork, biking, climbing and more.

Cost is $150 for a team of two until May 22 and then $180 until the race fills. Skills clinics are optional and cost $55 per participant.

Whereas most races allow parents to help and coach their kids, Kids A.G. mandates the course as a parent-free zone, keeping parents on the sidelines as cheerleaders. According to Kids A.G. co-founder, international adventure racer, and race director Billy Mattison, parents remain astounded at what their kids can accomplish. “Adventure racing is a thrilling sport,” said Mattison. “It combines physical and mental challenges, teamwork and good-natured competition – and just as importantly, it’s a lot of fun. We’re excited to return to Snowshoe and watch the kids grow by challenging themselves throughout the weekend.”

Additionally, those who don’t want to be left out of the action are being sought to join in as volunteers and help with the various obstacles, course marshaling, transition areas and the start and finish area during the event. To volunteer, contact Lisa Reeder at Lisa@kidsadventuregames.com.

The race is part of an 8-race series at ski resorts across the country, which originated in Vail, Colo. six years ago. Although a fairly young event, Kids A.G has experienced remarkable growth and support from multiple national sponsors. The Kids Adventure Games at Snowshoe Mountain is brought to you in partnership with Horizon Organic, Clif Kid, GoPro, and Snowshoe.
