Milo Baughman Design Classics at LaDiff in April

LaDifference International Home Furnishings – known as LaDIFF to their customers and friends – is proud to be the third stop on a cross country ‘furniture road show’ to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Thayer Coggin. This esteemed High Point furniture manufacturer is known for their quality and craftsmanship of modern & contemporary designs. As part of their celebration, Thayer Coggin is sharing a collection of internationally acclaimed designer Milo Baughman’s furniture from the mid-century modern era.

“The national tour will feature 21 of the most noted designs that Milo Baughman created exclusively for Thayer Coggin,” said Mrs. Royale Coggin Wiggin, president of the company. “My father, Thayer Coggin, and Milo had a special relationship for 50 years, collaborating on some ground-breaking designs that remain cornerstones in American-made, contemporary furniture.”

“In celebration of our 60th anniversary, we are taking these design classics to furniture showrooms across the country. It’s a furniture trunk show, so to speak, we just deliver it with a transfer truck,” said Wiggin. “Milo Baughman and Thayer Coggin worked together to define a classical era of modern furniture in America. This road show will highlight the history of our company and spotlight our commitment to excellence and craftsmanship in making American contemporary furniture.”

LaDIFF’s installation will take place the first week of April. The Richmond ‘road show’ will open with a cocktail reception on Thursday, April 4th, at 6pm. Phil Miller, director of sales and marketing for Thayer Coggin, will give a presentation on the 50-year friendship and partnership between Milo Baughman and Thayer Coggin – a collaboration that defined the mid-century modern era of furniture design. Milo Baughman designs present will include the 1953 “Scoop” chair and the Studio MB Group from 2003, amongst other favorites.

“We are so thrilled to present this collaborative effort of Mr. Coggin and Mr. Baughman to Richmond,” said Sarah Paxton, vice president and co-owner of LaDiff. “This is a true representation of mid-century American design at its finest. The designs are iconic and the quality is unparalleled in the industry.”

The ‘road show’ exhibit will be on display at LaDIFF’s showroom in downtown Richmond’s Shockoe Design District through Sunday, April 21st. Orders will be welcome on all ‘road show’ items, discounted at 10% off in celebration of this special anniversary.
