Pumpkin Patches

Take a look and you will see the pumpkins starting to appear. The area offers a wealth of pumpkin patches, from the basic to full blown pumpkin festival atmosphere.

Ashland Berry Farm
Weekends through Oct 31, pumpkin picking starts 9/28. The hours are 10 – 5 Saturdays & Sundays. The last hayride goes out to the field at 4:30 p.m. Admission is free.

Ashwood Gardens and Nursery Pumpkin Patch (Hanover)
October 5 – 27 on weekends, free hayrides are offered. Admission is free.

Belmont Pumpkin Farm (Mathews)
Annual Pumpkin Harvest begins September 21, with pumpkins, face painting, treasure hunts, mazes, farm animals to visit. Come try our famous bbq and pumpkin butter, and don’t leave without a taste of pumpkin pie or our famous pumpkin bread. We’ll have Scarecrow making, cornhole and old-fashioned kids games. It all adds up to tons of fun. Admission is $5.

Boulevard Flower Gardens (Chester)
Take a hay ride to the pumpkin patch, open Thursday and Friday 2-6, and weekends 9-5. Free admission, activities are $2-7.

Chesterfield Berry Farm
Weekends Sept. 21-Oct. 31
From 9:30 – 5:30 every weekend where you can take a hayride, pick a pumpkin, go through an 8 acre corn maze, visit the Scary Fun Barn, play paintball, corn cannon, pony rides, wagon train ride, barrel train ride or play in the shelled corn play area, hay tunnel jump, gem mining. Visit/feed the animals, enjoy homemade BBQ, coleslaw and lip smacking beans. Admission charged for activities, general admission is free.

Gallmeyer Farms (East End)
Visit the Pumpkin Patch at Gallmeyer Farms through Oct 31 for an “on the farm” family experience with free activities such as hayrides, spooky house tours, the straw bale maze, and the romping pile and lots of pumpkins. Open 8:00 a.m. – dusk. Pumpkins available for picking, as well as winter squash, Indian corn, and gourds. October 5 Gallmeyer will host the the Third Annual Gallmeyer Farms Fall Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission and parking are free and the event will feature music from Nick Smith, The Heart of Country, The Southern Comfort Band, Amy Ladds and friends, as well as pony rides and a play area for the kids.Boulevard Flower Gardens at Ruffin Mill. Admission is free.

Patterson Ave. Pumpkin Patch (West End)
Offers a huge selection of unique pumpkins to pick from.  We welcome you to stop by the Patterson Avenue Baptist Pumpkin Patch. We offer a fun place to take family pictures, develop memories and pick your pumpkins.  Proceeds benefit Community Outreach Missions allowing us to continue offering Free Family Fun events throughout the year. Oct 12 – 31 4:00 p.m. – dark weekdays and 9:00 a.m. – dark on weekends. Bring a canned food donation.

Swift Creek Berry Farm (Chesterfield/Moseley)
Straw maze for all ages, Halloween tic tac toe, cornhole and pumpkin painting. (you buy the pie pumpkin and we provide the paint). Pumpkin Season is Monday- Saturday 9am-5pm, and Sunday 1pm-5pm. Admission is free.

Tracy Scott is a self-professed baking addict and foodie who lives in Chesterfield County with her husband and two kids. She managed the calendar and handled social media for RFM before moving on to the corporate world.
