One Amazing Property, One Weekend, Two Festivals Rassawek is for Heritage & Wine Lovers

The Rassawek Spring Jubilee Wine & Heritage Festival (www.rassawek.com) is one of Virginia’s most unique family-friendly events where visitors will enjoy a blend of two exceptional festival experiences on one amazing property. The event will take place from 11am to 6pm on Saturday, May 19 and from 11am to 5pm on Sunday, May 20.
The Rassawek Vineyards on Route 6 in Goochland County, is home to both the Wine Festival and Heritage Show. Located in the heart of Virginia’s Piedmont, the vineyard overlooks the historic James River corridor. Enjoy a scenic drive along Route 6, less than an hour from Richmond or Charlottesville and experience a festival that has something for everyone.

The Heritage Show offers activities and demonstrations that are sure to please adventurers of any age. Take a ride on the steam train through the vineyard, listen to live acoustic music, check out the antique cars, explore a treehouse unlike any other, enjoy fun activities for children, visit with the 4-H animals, sample local produce, baked goods and home- cooked food, watch artisans at work and learn about heritage traditions through a variety of cultural and agrarian demonstrations.

The Wine Festival features nine Virginia wineries, including Rassawek’s own Byrd Cellars. Attendees can sample some of the region’s best wine while strolling along one of the property’s many lakes or while relaxing on the porch of the historic Cherokee Cabin. Enjoy hand-crafted chocolate and gourmet food, the perfect complement to any wine experience. Rassawek also features one of Virginia’s most unusual wine tasting rooms; an original greenhouse from James Madison’s Montpelier.

Visitors can purchase a combined ticket or a ticket to either the Wine Festival or Heritage Show. Getaway-to-Goochland, spend the day at Rassawek where there is truly something for everyone! Virginia is for lovers but at Rassawek, Virginia is for Heritage & Wine Lovers.
