Register early to get  choice of workshops! Teens can register now for the the tenth annual Richmond Youth Peace Summit, Saturday, April 26, 2014.  The Summit will be held at Northminster Baptist Church, 3121 Moss Side Avenue Richmond, VA 23222, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This FREE event is open to young people ages 12 to 19 from throughout central Virginia.  Lunch will be provided.  Participants are also eligible to earn credit for six community service hours.

The summit promotes teen leadership, nonviolent conflict resolution, social justice and positive self-expression. Morning and afternoon workshops offer a variety of topics of interest to teens.  The summit also features a midday performance by talented local youth and a morning panel discussion on preventing bullying.
Workshop offerings at this year’s summit include conflict resolution, anger management, youth leadership, and bullying prevention, as well as healthy cooking, creative dramatics and improvisation, drumming, yoga, spoken word poetry and creative movement.
