Local LearningRx hosts free seminar to offer hope for struggling students

Richmond, VA (Grassroots Newswire) 4/16/2012 -The brain-training experts at LearningRx in Richmond want to help conquer learning struggles by offering a free seminar for local residents.

The seminar on Improving Cognitive Skills for Teachers, parents and other professionals will be held on May 19, 2012 at 10am-12 noon at LearningRx Richmond West.

The free seminar is designed to help parents determine if weak cognitive skills may be holding back their child, and then explore options for fixing the problem.

“This is a great opportunity for parents,” said Ed Lawrence, owner of LearningRx in Richmond, located at 3850 Gaskins Rd, Suite 250, Henrico, VA 23233. “Whether you’ve been searching for years to find a way to help your struggling child, or you’re just now noticing a problem, this seminar will give you some answers.  More importantly it will give you hope that it doesn’t have to be this way forever.”

Studies show that more than 80 percent of learning and reading problems stem from weak cognitive skills, the brain skills that are necessary for easy, successful learning. LearningRx has developed a methodology that can quickly build up those mental tools with fun, game-like exercises.  The training can reduce or eliminate learning troubles and can even help remove the barriers created by ADHD and dyslexia.

According to Lawrence, training usually results in much better grades, but parents see other benefits too. “Quite often, the most amazing result is the dramatic jump in self-esteem, confidence, attitude, and overall achievement.  These kids really feel smarter after the training, so they know they can do better in all areas of life.”
