Six nonprofits have partnered to launch Fearless Fest, an interdisciplinary festival where kids ages twelve to eighteen can attend sampler-style workshops to learn about ways of expressing themselves through writing, art, and movement.
The purpose of the event is to help kids reconnect to their sources of inspiration during these pandemic times and establish themselves on solid ground. Richmond Young Writers, Project Yoga Richmond, OpenSpace Education, Studio Two Three, RVA Sk8 Club, will facilitate the workshops where students will write, make art, do yoga, skate, and think deep thoughts together. Through those experiences, attendees will examine what courage means for mind and body. The Neighborhood Resource Center will host the event in Richmond.

Participants can choose four workshops in the areas that most interest them for a deep-dive afternoon of movement, introspection, and expression. Workshops are available in creative nonfiction, yoga, ceramics, skateboarding basics (through advanced levels), mindfulness, poetry, and painting. They will also have the opportunity to make lanterns for 1708 Gallery’s 14th annual InLight Festival. And Studio Two Three’s print truck will be on site so students can screen print a shirt or tote bag.

Studio Two Three empowers artists to make art and make change. Studio Two Three is a community arts space that offers studios, classes and workshops, artist residency, and open doors. It provides 24/7 access to printing presses, darkroom, digital lab, communal workspace, and individual studios to support art making for personal and social change.
