Richmonder Named President of National Business Organization

Shay, CLU, ChFC, CLTC, LUTCF, was elected national president of Women in Insurance & Financial Services (WIFS) – the only national organization exclusively devoted to helping women succeed in both insurance and financial services. Shay is founder and president of THE PATH Financial Strategies, LLC and a financial adviser with Eagle Strategies, LLC, a registered investment adviser and a wholly-owned subsidiary of New York Life Insurance Company. Shay, whose offices are located in Innsbrook in Henrico County, will serve as WIFS president for an 18-month term. Her role is to guide the organization’s focus on insurance and financial services education, job development and networking opportunities for women.

Shay leads the national nonprofit with expertise and experience, having achieved “Million Dollar Round Table” global recognition 13 times, which automatically makes her a Life & Qualifying Member. In 2011, she joined other WIFS officers for the prestigious honor of ringing the New York Stock Exchange Bell. Locally, Shay was honored twice as “Agent of the Year” by New York Life, Richmond General Office. In addition to leadership roles, Shay serves the industry as an educator, national speaker and contributing author. She also writes a monthly column about family finances for “Richmond Family Magazine.”

“Insurance and financial services offer incredible job opportunities for businesswomen, and the earning potential is unlimited,” Shay said. “My goals through WIFS are to help make more women aware of the options and to support them in their pursuit of success.”
