RICHMOND, VA. – July 31, 2015 – When you think about the best crab cakes in Richmond, you think Strawberry Street Café, right? That’s what many Richmond’s say anyway. Not only are they the tastiest, but during the month of August Strawberry Street Café will donate 10 percent from every crab cake sale to the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU (CHoR). Whether you select the crab cake sandwich or entrée, 10 percent of each sale will be donated back to help the children being treated at CHoR.
“Local events like this are important because they not allow the community to participate in something fun but the funds donated ensure that Children’s Hospital can continue to elevate the quality of care and service for area children and their families,” said Ron Joseph with Strawberry Street Café. Last year more than 50,000 children were treated at CHoR alone. From healing broken bones to caring for chronic illnesses, CHoR provides a continuum of care that is unmatched in Central Virginia, and serves as the region’s only full-service hospital for children.
Crab Cakes For Kids, once known as Crabcake Fest, ran for thirteen years from 1991 through 20014 and raised nearly $16,000 for Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU. Ron Joseph and his team are thrilled to bring back this delicious effort to continue their long-time support for the children’s hospital in this community.
