Learn how to create and master technology rather than just use it this summer. With project-based camps that teach coding, 3D printing, software design and device building, Tech Em’s instructors teach students at all levels the critical STEM-related skills required in the 21st century. By emphasizing art in technology, Tech Em helps students understand the exciting and evolving relationship of technology and art. All camps are taught by an IT professional who will individualize the camp experience for kids 7-17 based on age and level of experience (no experience necessary).

Device Camp – June 16 to 19, 1 to 4 PM
You will learn about overall device design: 3D design for the enclosure, electronic design for the hardware, and software design to make your creation come to life.
Web App Camp – July 7 to 10, 1 to 4 PM
Create your own website! Build a virtual world, start a blog site, share your interests and photos–produce a web application that you can publish on the internet. You will learn HTML, CSS, a server-side web framework and database, so you can have total control over your web presence.
Gaming Camp – July 14 to 17, 1 to 4 PM
If you have ever thought to yourself, “If I made my own game, I would…,” then this is the camp for you! Create your own characters. Decide their actions. Design their world. Younger kids will use an iPad app to create an arcade-style game. Older kids will learn code to have more control. Build the game you’ve always wanted to play and then share it with others.
3D Printing Camp – July 21 to 24, 1 to 4 PM
If you can think it, we can print it! Spend the week learning 3-D design on a tablet-oriented artistic CAD (computer-aided design). Leave camp with at least two 3-D objects that you will create, customize, print, and then paint/color. See your imagination come to life!
Mobile App Camp – July 28 to 31, 9 AM to 12 PM
Do you have an app idea that could be the next Flappy Bird or Doodlejump? During this week, we will help you design and build your own mobile app or have the option to customize an existing app. You can create a great game or a helpful tool for yourself for an iOS device (iPhone, iPad). If you have an entrepreneurial spirit, we would like to help you publish your app in the app store.
