Hispanic Heritage Month is September 15 through October 15. Read about the Sacred Heart Center in RFM and support the Richmond-area nonprofit. 

Nuestras Historias: Latinos in Richmond at The Valentine and tells the Latino story through firsthand stories, objects and photography.

Visit Nuestras Historias at The Valentine
Learn more about Richmond’s Latino community when you visit this exhibit at The Valentine through Apr 15, 2018. This is a curated collection of photography, artifacts, and oral histories collected from generations of Latinos living and working in Richmond. Children under eighteen and active-duty military can visit The Valentine for free. Adult admission is $10.

Author Talk: José Luis Vilson

The Sacred Heart Center presents José Luis Vilson, math educator, blogger, speaker, education activist and author of This Is Not A Test: A New Narrative on Race, Class, and the Future of Education

José will share his insights, Tuesday, October 3 (in English) and Wednesday, October 4 (in Spanish) at Sacred Heart Center, beginning at 6:30 p.m. each evening. The event is free and open to the public.

Stuffed Animal Donation Drive
Do you have stuffed animals in need of a new owner? The Sacred Heart Center is accepting pre-loved stuffed animals for the kids served in its family programming services. Drop off donations Monday through Friday, nine o’clock until seven in the evening, at 1400 Perry Street.
