Tenth Annual Museum Day Live is Coming

Free Admission with a Downloadable Museum Day Live! Ticket on September 27, 2014

Smithsonian Magazine designates Saturday, September 27 the tenth annual Museum Day Live.

For one day only, participating museums across the United States, with a wide range of diverse exhibitions, will emulate the spirit of the Smithsonian Institution’s Washington DC-based facilities, which offer free admission every day, and open their doors for free to those who download a Museum Day Live! ticket.

Identity _ Science MuseumThe public can visit smithsonian.com/museumdaylive to learn more, and, beginning in August, download a Museum Day Live! ticket. Each ticket grants the ticketholder (plus one guest) free access to any participating museum on September 27. One ticket is permitted per household, per email address.

A list of participating museums, which will be updated as more museums sign on, can be found at Smithsonian.com/museumday/venues.

“Museum Day Live! embodies Smithsonian’s commitment to make learning and the spread of knowledge accessible to everyone,” says Stephen Giannetti, VP at Smithsonian Media. “For a decade, we’ve partnered with a wonderful array of museums – from the small and niche, to world-renowned institutions – and are looking forward to welcoming more guests this year than ever before.”

Museums in all fifty states have signed up to participate in Smithsonian Magazine’s 2014 Museum Day Live!, the largest event of its kind. Over 1,500 museums are expected to participate this year. The Taiwan Tourism Bureau is the leading advertising sponsor for the 2014 event.
