Treetop Zoofari Zip Line Coming to Metro Richmond Zoo

image_1Metro Richmond ZoofariThe Metro Richmond Zoo is set to open its Treetop Zoofari Zip Line and Adventure Park this fall. This tree-to-tree outdoor adventure will allow visitors to experience nature like never before – high in the forest canopy. The park offers incredible views, exercise, fun, adventure, and challenges. It builds confidence as you travel through varying degrees of thrilling obstacles such as jungle ropes, floating logs, tight wires, Indiana Jones bridges, a surf board zip, Tarzan swing, and zip lines – everyone’s favorite.
Those who are balance-challenged or afraid of heights as well as younger kids can enjoy the park on the lower Jungle Explorer course which has fourteen challenges from five to twelve feet high above the ground and includes one zip line. The truly adventurous can take the higher and more challenging Treetop Zoofari course which carries you 12 to 45 feet above the ground and will allow you to visit parts of the zoo that you cannot visit on foot. Get a bird’s eye view of monkeys, apes, kangaroos, giraffe, antelope, tapirs, toucans and much more. In all fifteen zip lines carry you over 3,000 feet through the forest and above the zoo, including a mammoth 600-foot zip over the zoo’s lake. Participants of Treetop Zoofari must be at least 54” tall and should plan for a minimum of two hours to complete the course.
Admission to the zoo is not required to participate in Treetop Zoofari. The adventure park is nearly completed and will open in a few weeks. For more information, contact Jim Andelin at jim@metrorichmondzoo.com or (804) 739-5666.
