Tunes for Our Troops

Tunes for Our Troops is a non-profit project to raise money to buy iPod shuffles for active-duty military personnel overseas. St. Catherine’s Senior, Kyle Liggan, started it as her independent project. A combination of an interest in music and respect for all that the military does for our country inspired the creation of Tunes for Our Troops.

Music plays a key, if not vital, role in our lives and has become a dominant source of American culture and pride. Music can be soothing and can serve as relief from daily stresses or boredom. There is even a developing science behind music therapy. Tunes for Our Troops wants to help change people’s lives through music. By giving active military personnel access to modern music, it can provide stress relief they may not be possible through other means.
