The Virginia Zoo presents Zoo Boo, the Zoo’s annual Halloween event, Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
“This is a fun and safe way to enjoy Halloween together as a family, and learn about exotic animals from around the world,” said Greg Bockheim, the Zoo’s executive director.
The event features animal pumpkin smashing, costume contests and, of course, trick or treat candy stations. Visitors can take a Hayride for $1 per ride, or climb aboard the Zoo Boo Choo Choo for $3 per ride. Guests can also visit with our animals, as usual.
Zoo Boo veterans should note that the hours for the event have changed for 2013. Separate day and evening events have been merged into a single 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. event. Admission for members — ages 2 and up — is $6; for nonmembers — ages 2 and up — is $11. Children under 2 are free.
Zoo Boo is sponsored by Blue Ocean Wealth Advisors of Raymond James, Adams Outdoor Advertising, WAVY 10, FOX 43 and Harris Teeter. For more information, visit http://www.virginiazoo.org.
