Explore the Breakthrough Battlefield of America’s Civil War, Tudor Hall plantation house built in 1812; and investigate museums with thousands of Civil War artifacts.

Breakthrough Trail 5K

The race will take place on historic Civil War battlefield trails starting and finishing at the at the Freedom Garden. The course is a mixture of uneven gravel and dirt trails. Awards for male and female in several age groups.

World War II in the Pacific Living History Event

Pamplin Historical Park 6125 Boydton Plank Road, Petersburg, VA

Guests will have the opportunity to learn from living historians about a number of different aspects of a soldier’s life. Partner museums will have displays and presentations on US 511th Parachute Infantry Regiment, Japanese armor and propaganda poster art. Children will enjoy craft activities including one to take home.

Join speaker Brian Matthew Jordan as he shares the story of A Thousand May Fall: Life, Death, and Survival in the Union Army. The Petersburg Civil War Roundtable (PCWRT) will meet the first Thursday of each month at Pamplin Historical Park and the National Museum of the Civil War Soldier from 7:00 pm-8:00 pm.
